Retin A
Information
This medication is used to treat acne. It may decrease the number and severity of acne pimples and promote quick healing of pimples that do develop. Tretinoin belongs to a class of medications called retinoids. It works by affecting the growth of skin cells.
OTHER USES: Other forms of this medication are used to improve the appearance of the skin and minimize fine wrinkles. Your doctor may also use this medication to treat other conditions.

Directions
Follow your health care provider instructions on apply this medicine. This medicine is usually applied at night. Gently wash your face with mild non medicated soap. Pat your skin dry. AVOID getting this medicine in your eyes, ears, nostrils, angles of the nose and mouth. After applying this medicine use a non irritating moisturizer with a sunscreen of at least SPF 15 in the morning after you apply this medicine.

Side Effects
Side effects may include: dry and cracking lips
dry mouth, nose or throat
itching
fatigue
hair loss (alopecia)
If you experience any of these severe side effects, talk to you doctor immediately

Precautions Avoid long exposure to the sun and use a sunscreen and protective clothing.
This medicine may affect your night vision. Be cautious when driving or operating any machinery after dark.
Hair removal by waxing and laser procedures to the skin should be avoided while taking isotretinoin and for 6 months after stopping isotretinoin. These procedures may cause scarring.
