TAMIFLU SUPSENSION IS DISPENSED IN POWDER FORM - YOU NEED TO FOLLOW CAREFUL INSTRUCTIONS FOR RECONSTITUTION - DO NOT ORDER SUSPENSION IF YOU CANNOT HAVE THIS DONE CORRECTLY.
TAMIFLU (TAM-ih-flew) is a medicine to treat flu (infection caused by influenza virus). It belongs to a group of medicines called neuraminidase inhibitors. These medications attack the influenza virus and prevent it from spreading inside your body. TAMIFLU treats flu at its source by attacking the virus that causes the flu, rather than simply masking symptoms. Each TAMIFLU capsule (grey/light yellow) contains 75 mg of active drug and should be taken by mouth.
Tamiflu Dosage
For the treatment of Influenza, the dosage of Tamiflu is:
75 mg of Tamiflu for adults to be taken twice a day for up to five days
30-75 mg of Tamiflu for children to be taken twice a day for up to five days. The exact dose of Tamiflu is usually dependent upon the body weight and other factors determined by your doctor.
The dose of Tamiflu for infants must be determined by a pediatrician.
For the prophylactic treatment of influenza with Tamiflu, the dosage is:
75 mg of Tamiflu for adults to be taken once a day for up to 7 days
The dosage of Tamiflu for children must be determined by a pediatrician.

Preparation of Oral Suspension
1. Tap the closed bottle gently several times to loosen the powder.
2. Measure 52 ml of water by filling the measuring cup to the indicated level (measuring cup included in the box).
3. Add all 52 ml of water into the bottle, recap the bottle and shake the closed bottle well for 15 seconds.
4. Remove the cap and push the bottle adapter into the neck of the bottle.
5. Close the bottle tightly with the cap (on the top of the bottle adapter). This will make sure that the bottle adapter fits in the bottle in the right position.
Tamiflu powder for suspension will appear as an opaque and white to light yellow suspension after reconstitution..

Side Effects
TAMIFLU is generally well tolerated. The most common side effects are nausea and vomiting. Taking TAMIFLU with food may reduce the potential of these side effects.
