Information
Avandia (Rosiglitazone), along with diet and exercise, helps improve blood sugar control. Avandia (Rosiglitazone) may be prescribed alone, with metformin, sulfonylureas, or insulin. When taking Avandia(Rosiglitazone) with sulfonylureas or insulin, patients may be at increased risk for low blood sugar. Ask your doctor whether you need to lower your sulfonylurea or insulin dose.

DirectionsFollow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. This medicine may be taken on an empty stomach or with food. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF THIS MEDICINE, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do NOT take 2 doses at once.
Avandia (Rosligatazone) is not recommended for patients with severe heart failure or active liver disease.
Also, blood tests to check for serious liver problems should be conducted before and during therapy. Tell your doctor if you have liver disease, or if you experience unexplained tiredness, stomach problems, dark urine or yellowing of skin while taking Avandia (Rosligatazone).
Avandia (Rosligatazone may cause fluid retention or swelling which could lead to or worsen heart failure, so you should tell your doctor if you have a history of these conditions. If you experience an unusually rapid increase in weight, swelling or shortness of breath while taking Avandia (Rosligatazone), talk to your doctor immediately. In combination with insulin Avandia (Rosligatazone) may increase the risk of other heart problems. Ask your doctor about important symptoms and if the combination of Avandia (Rosligatazone) and insulin continues to work for you. Avandia (Rosligatazone) is not for everyone.

Side Effects
No common Avandia side effects have been reported with the proper use of Avandia.Some people may experience Avandia side effects like tiredness, weight gain or swelling with Avandia. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience the following Avandia side effects: nausea; vomiting; stomach pain; fatigue; loss of appetite; unusual thirst; unusual amount of urine; dark urine; rapid weight gain; bloating or swelling of ankles, feet, or hands; chest pain; or shortness of breath. If you notice other Avandia side effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.

PrecautionsIf you are nursing, pregnant or thinking about becoming pregnant, or premenopausal and not ovulating, talk to your doctor before taking Avandia(Rosligatazone).
