Lipitor-Say No to Cholesterol

Lipitor is well known drug for lowering cholesterol levels in the blood. With todays busy lifestyle, eating foods rich in fat, fast food and the lack of physical activity result in increase in weight and as result increase the cholesterol levels in your body. With Lipitor you can control the cholesterol levels in your blood. Lipitor (atorvastatin calcium) is a prescription medication. Lipitor is known to increase the level of HDL i.e. high density lipoprotein known as "good "cholesterol. If you cannot reduce cholesterol with enough exercise and diet control then Lipitor is the most safe prescription medication to use.

Patients with family history of early coronary heart disease are also a good candidate for Lipitor. It comes in the form of tablet with strength 10, 20, 40, 80 mg. Lipitor has been approved by FDA approved. Before prescribing Lipitor, You must inform your doctor if you have diabetes, thyroid problem, have kidney problem, muscle aches or weakness, drink more than 2 glasses of alcohol daily. Lipitor  use along with other medications may cause serious side effects. So it is better,  to inform your doctor if taking other cholesterol medications, medication for infections, such as erythromycin, clarithromycin, itraconazole, or ketoconazole, birth control , medication for heart failure, HIV or AIDS medication. Lipitor is known to be harmful to unborn baby in pregnancy. For lactating mothers too, Lipitor is harmful as it passes onto the  mother's milk.  Patients with liver problem or allergic with Lipitor must inform the doctor.
