Synthroid Information

Synthroid (Levothyroxine) is a thyroid hormone used to treat hypothyroidism. Synthroid (Levothyroxine) may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor. Synthroid (Levothyroxine) is available in many doses and the tablets should not be cut. Synthroid (Levothyroxine) is manufactured by Knoll Labs and distributed by Abbott. When Abbott acquired Knoll Pharma in 2001, it gained direct access to some of the most advanced technology in pharmaceutical science, including the first monoclonal antibody for rheumatoid arthritis and other promising compounds in late-stage clinical trials. In addition it gained access to the following Meridia®, a new product for the management of obesity, and other well-established products such as Synthroid®, Rythmol® and Dilaudid®.

Synthroid Side Effects

Synthroid side effects may cause headache, nervousness, trembling, sweating, increased appetite, diarrhea, weight loss or insomnia. If Synthroid side effects continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor as your dose may need to be adjusted. In rare instances,Synthroid side effects like some hair loss may occur during the first few months of starting this medicine. This is one of the Synthroid side effects which is usually temporary as your body adjusts to Synthroid. If this Synthroid side effects persists or worsens, notify your doctor as soon as possible. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience Synthroid side effects like chest pain, rapid or irregular heartbeat, shortness of breath, or seizures.Synthroid side effects are unlikely, but if you experience difficulty breathing; tightness of chest; swelling of eyelids, face, or lips; or if you develop a rash or hives, tell your doctor immediately.
